If you are looking for tons of fun Ireland is always up for a ride. This country is full of entertaining events and festivities throughout the whole year! In the autumn season you can attend several food festivals, fairs and many other events.

Don’t be sad that summer is over because the fall is bringing you lots of distractions too. No matter that the days are shorter as cultural life is not going into hibernation just yet. Come and join the Folk festival in Cork or the Walking Festival in Wicklow County. There should be some fun for all the member of the family so pack up and visit Ireland!

The Cork Folk Festival

This year the annual Cork Folk Festival will be happening between the 10th and 13th of October.

The festival is organized for the 34th time in 2013 and it is considered one of the main and most important traditional events in the category of Irish folk music. In Europe it has become more and more popular and has gained a high reputation. During the event you can attend different concerts featuring Irish artists and international bands. There are children’s event and workshops. You can learn Irish dancing or just sit in a bar with your friends and have a jolly time. Listen to the magical sound of flutes and pipes singing you beautiful ballads.

The Footfalls Wicklow Walking Festival

On the last weekend of October (25th-28th) you should visit ‘The Garden of Ireland’ in Wicklow County and attend the walking festival. If you enjoy a nice walk you will definitely have fun here at Wicklow County where you can choose from day walks and night walks of many different levels. Go on the easy walk if you are with the whole family or make it a challenge and follow in the footsteps of experienced leaders who can inform you about local history along the way.

Join Michele Jameson who will lead you on the Nordic Walking or learn more about photography at the workshop. At the end of the day you can enjoy a lovely evening listening to traditional music in one of the local pubs. In the heart of the Mountains of Wicklow you can take a walk through the National Park and admire the woodlands, native animal species such as foxes, silkas and birds of prey. Take a walk and enjoy the beauty of nature!
