Ballybunion, Co Kerry

This golf course located in the estuary of River Shannon is widely considered to be among the best golf courses in the world. The golf club was founded in 1893, and its reputation as one of the finest links courses in the world has been established long ago. The present course was remodeled in 2005, and it is still frequently visited by world famous golfers.

Lahinch, Co Clare

This is another century-old golf club, stated in 1984 by Tom Morris and sharpened up by English designer Martin Hawtree. This golf course is a real masterpiece, with 18 holes and two parts: the Old Course, between the road and the sea, and the Castle Course, a flatter links that gets its name from some nearby castle ruins.

Ballyliffin, Co Donegal

Ballyliffin is the northernmost course in the country, on the backdrop of some truly dramatic scenery. The 18-hole course was designed by top designers Eddie Hackett, Pat Ruddy and Tom Craddoc, and it is considered to be one of the finest courses in the British Isles. In addition to the new course, there’s also the Old Course which is no less challenging and interesting.

The K Club, Co Kildare

The K Club is part of the Kildare Hotel and Golf Club, located on the banks of the river Liffey. The club is known for its countless ponds and expensive landscaping that took millions of tons of soil to create. The two golf courses of the club have been the location for several important golf competitions.

Mount Juliet, CO Kilkenny

Mount Juliet Golf and Spa Hotel has one of the best ‘new’ golf courses in Ireland. Its design contains many elements typical to American courses, and it is considered to be a great course for beginners because it doesn’t have any overly challenging obstacles. Despite not being very adventurous, Mount Juliet hotel still has one of the best golf courses in Ireland.
