With Christmas around the corner everyone around the world is slowly starting to prepare for this annual celebration. The streets and store windows soon will be decorated with lights and winter accessories, the radio channels will switch to Frank Sinatra’s and Whitney Houston’s winter albums and gradually the atmosphere builds up until its climax: Christmas Eve.

In Ireland there are numberless fairs and festivals organized with tons of exciting and fun activities for the whole family. Come and join the crowds at Duckett’s Grove Christmas Craft and Food Fair and be part of the Glow as the lights illuminate Cork city.

Wexford Christmas at Wells House & Gardens

Between the 7th and 23rd of December the gates of Wells House and Gardens opens up in the Craft Courtyard dressed up in festive decorations and pretty Christmas lights. Find some amazing Christmas present ideas among the crafted gifts made locally. Try the tasty festive foods and treats. The market has the style of the ones of the continental Christmas markets: there is all kind of eclectic foods and crafts. Visit Wexford County and do your Christmas shopping here. Meet Santa and his elves at the gate of the Great Hall and enter the Christmas wonderland.

The Taste of Roscrea

In the beginning of December (5-8th), the town Center gives place to “A Taste of Roscrea” for the second time. Watch as the Courtyard is being transformed into a Christmas village and gets filled with the best of the Tipperary Crafts being exhibited in the stalls.

Visit the Tower where you can take your picture with Santa and his helpers. Take a ride on Santa’s train and go on a tour around Roscrea. This year there will also be a Children’s play bus. Take a stroll around the food stands or sit in the Food Pavillion and enjoy a lovely festive lunch/dinner with your friends or family.

Taste some of the locally produced fresh and homemade products at The Odlums Brown Bread Tent. Stop and listen to the local school choirs who will be lining up to perform live and sing all your favorite Christmas carols. Join in the fun and sing along! Each and every night there will be something special: Fashion show on the 5th, hospice Christmas night on the 6th and a special night of entertainment provided by the Local Scouts on the 7th.
