With Christmas around the corner everyone around the world is slowly starting to prepare for this annual celebration. The streets and store windows soon will be decorated with lights and winter accessories, the radio channels will switch to Frank Sinatra’s and Whitney Houston’s winter albums and gradually the atmosphere builds up until its climax: Christmas Eve.

In Ireland there are numberless fairs and festivals organized with tons of exciting and fun activities for the whole family. Come and join the crowds on the Christmas Markets in Limerick and Galway city.

Christmas at the Milk Market – Limerick city

Between the 28th of November and 24th of December the Milk Market opens its shops in a holiday atmosphere. Meet your friends for a cup of coffee or hot chocolate and catch up before the holidays. Enjoy the entertaining events and browse through the shops, maybe you’ll find a great Christmas present for someone you care for. The market houses about 60 shops and stalls which are all packed with several kinds of artisan foods, toys, crafts, books, decorations, fashion items, collectibles and other gifts. Take your children with you and have some family fun together.

The Continental Christmas Market in Galway city

On Eyre Square the annual Continental Christmas Market will take place between the 22nd of November and 22nd of December. This market is the longest running Christmas Market of Ireland which is set up every year during the Festive season. There will be tons of exciting and interesting activities, lots of entertainment and of course an amazing holiday atmosphere.

Traders come from all over Europe and Ireland to sell their goods at the Continental Christmas Market. Browse through the foods and treats, crafts and Christmas gifts and enjoy the live entertainment during the entire duration of the event. The stage set up in the market will host several carolers, choirs and popular musicians. There will be workshops and amusements for children and of course they can meet Santa in person.

The local charities also join in the fun and raising funds for those who need it most during this season. Visit the stand of the famous Bierkeller, of German origin, where you can taste some fine German beer and choose from a wide range of drinks. We also recommend you to join in the Lederhosen and Oktoberfest activities.
