Burren Slow Food Festival

The Burren slow food festival takes place for the 6th time this year in the town of Lisdoonvarna on the 17-19th of May. It is an international festival that features the best chefs from the best local restaurants such as Wild Honey Inn, Sheedy’s Restaurant and others. Set out towards the Farmers Market and enjoy the finest selection of locally produced ingredients brought to you from Ballyvaughn and other places. There is also beer tasting of course organized by the Burren Brewery and a food talk about food production in the coastal regions of Ireland. Take your children to cookery classes and taste some traditional high quality food.

Foynes Irish Coffee Festival

For some people it is incredibly hard to start a day without a cup of coffee. If you think you are one of them then Foynes Irish Coffee festival is for you. The event takes place in Foynes, Limerick County starting on the 31st of May until the 2nd of June. Irish coffee was invented in 1943 by a chef called Joe Sheirdan and it is world famous even today. This festival celebrates the invention of this famed beverage together with big and small in a carnival atmosphere. The festival nights end up with a spectacular display of fireworks.

The Taste of Dublin is the most significant food event of Ireland. As you can deduce it from its title the event takes place in Dublin between the 13th and 16th of June. Famous chefs come and prepare you the most amazing dishes and special drinks. You can also attend educational culinary sessions, cookery school and enjoy the interactive tutorials and demos. There is also lots of live entertainment and outdoor activities for all the members of the family.
